Paws for a Cause - Small Animal Clinic

We are excited to be a part of the Nevis Animal Community!

Janice Jensen, Founder/Director of Nevis Animal Speak welcomed key stakeholders and honored guests to the official commissioning of their new Sedecal, VetRay X-ray machine. She further shared statistics on the success of the Paws for a Cause Small Animal Clinic and her appreciation for all involved in this public/private partnership. Mrs. Jensen further explained that this is the first full sized X-ray machine available in small animal medicine in Nevis’ history yet large enough to support over 400lbs should they be called upon to support human medicine.

The Hon. Spencer Brand offered remarks in place of the Hon. Premier Mark Brantley who sent his regrets having been called to Parliament and said “The NIA stands ready to continue to work with you, partner with you and support you…to the benefit of the people of Nevis.”

April Bowen, LVT/Clinic Director explained more technical information about the Sedecal, VetRay X-ray machine and shared recent images from numerous patients.

Honored guests included Dr. Judy Nisbett, Chief Medical Officer, Hon. Hazel Brandy-Williams, Hon. Troy Liburd, Perm Sec. Wakely Daniel, Perm. Sec Huey Sargeant and Deputy Chair of CCM Latoya Jones. The Hon. Vance Amory also sent his best wishes offering congratulations Nevis Animal Speak on their “contributions to the ongoing development of Nevis.”

 

Nevis Animal Speak’s event ended with all guests being given a copy of the anticipated 2000 sq ft clinic expansion and a small gift of appreciation.
